How to React to a Google Street View Car Drive-by
Their faces may be blurred but I'm guessing they'll still be able to recognize themselves.
A lot of funny pictures have appeared on Google Street View over the years. Whether it's people peeing behind cars, girls flashing or people covering a car in Post-it notes, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting the best stills out there. However, funny sequences are less common. Our favorite used to be the man falling off his bicycle.
However, this animated gif from BuzzFeed is a little different. The people in these images know they are being photographed and the sequence below shows them getting in place for the camera to take the last, perfect photo. They'd obviously been waiting there for the car but who knows how long they spent parked on the side of the road.

Lol, this is just ridiculous...
Lol awesome.
The GIF is backwards they were laying on the car and ran once the google car passed.
good call BPT747, one of them is obviously running backwards
Does Google announce this ahead of time? I would love to put up a giant Bing! sign out front and give them the old middle finger salute!
^
True Story
The GIF is backwards they were laying on the car and ran once the google car passed.
yeah...bit weird...unless they decided to make it like that..by actually running backwards :S
Epic... WIN!
The GIF isn't backwards, if it was the Street View car was driving backwards down the highway (note the other car on the road).
lol these guys have a good sense of humor.
if i had more people, i would have done the wave.
The GIF isn't backwards (ie: they're not running from the camera) because why would the two people be flashing peace signs DIRECTLY at the camera while looking straight at the van? Secondly, as Ballista has mentioned, there isn't a road divider on the street that they're on, and thus, it's a one way street. The van would have to be driving down the wrong way on a one way street.

i think your sarcasm detector BSOD'd

one way street lol.
I'd be very surprised if this was a one-way street. It looks like a minor road in a housing estate somewhere in England. All the cars in the images are parked. I'm assuming that the car had to pause to take the 360 degree photo so the guys knew when to pose.
Epic. =D
Guys forget the street and no road divider, you forget fundamental things like how a human runs, i doubt you run backwards around your car and hop on to the trunk, at least analyse all the details
lucky ducks
I tell you what happened... they had seen the camera car coming or it was a cul-de-sac (dead end) and knew it had to come back the same way... so they had a spontanious idea to pose... They are running to get in their van as the camera car passes because the police escort is about to come round the corner (it always tries to stay far enough away to be out of camera sight).
the street is not one way only because it has no line in the middle... it's full of streets like that
Wouldn't go out of my way to wait there, but if I was somehow right there I'd do some things.
If google blur my face I'll sue them!!! They better buy photoshop cs5 and use it's new feature to remove unwanted objects from pictures

if i had more people, i would have done the wave.
There is an idea, a Mexican Wave, now if only I had enough friends.
Pretty big fail imo. Googlecar pranks are only good when they dont look so obviously pre-planned. These guys were so late upon seeing the car that we get to see them running and staging their pose, which kinda ruins the whole thing.
I don't think anyone has topped the two guys in lawn chairs in full scuba gear!
Did you guys see on dateline, where that girl had been kidnapped for 18+ years?
The google car passed the kidnappers house and the guy followed them for several blocks in his creepy van!
one big lol

What does the google car look like?
"Google it" (sorry, had to be said)
"Google-Voguing", "Google Bomber", "Drive-by Posing"...don't mind me, just registering a few copyrights so next week I can start charging bloggers 25 cent to use the latest Internet buzz-phrase and retire a millionaire like that 'pwned' guy.
