8. Razer Chimaera Surround Headset
CES spawned E3, but CES is the first stop of the year for gaming companies to show off their newest gear. Here are 11 new products we tried and like.
Fans of Razer already know the company is lauded for its vast array of high-quality mice, as well as other gaming peripherals like keyboards and headsets. At CES, the company revealed its first steps into console gaming, first with the Chimaera surround sound gaming headset, and then with the Onza gaming controller (see page 6).
This surround-sound/chat headset, while still under development, is currently designed for use on the Xbox 360 and PC. A removable boom microphone connects via standard 3.5mm audio jacks, or into the 360 controller’s 2.5mm connector. While we’ve seen such headsets in the past from Tritton and Turtle Beach, this is Razer’s first step towards console gaming. The headset is rechargeable and comes with a charging base, though the company still has to decide whether it will be strictly for the PC and 360, or if it will be PlayStation 3-compatible as well.

"The claim is that the GF100 blows all the competition out of the water."
Nah, it just causes all the water to evaporate, making it seem like the others got blown out of the water.
the peregrine glove is a good idea, except when u want to hit multiple keys at once, it's automatically rendered useless
the motion controller caught my interest though... it worked pretty well
I like the concept of the R.A.T. gaming mice. Adjustable size.. clever.
This is going to be an exciting year
"In four varieties, the R.A.T. mice are customizable gaming mice made to ensure all gamers are happy. "
Still not a trackball, this gamer isn't happy
Daaaaaamn, I JUST got a new laptop ; I want that m11x so badly!
We'll see about the M11x kaybonjoon. Hopefully we'll have one in for review.
As for the R.A.T. mice, they are pretty sweet. I like the highest end model, the 9, though it's pretty expensive compared to the competing Microsoft SideWinder X8.
The projector setup does actually look nice though. ATi's 6 monitor setup looked annoying to use; with the black frames.
So how much is 3 Full HD 3D Projectors and a GF100 going to cost me. And can it play Crysis 2 in 3D with a resolution of 5760*1080?
That GF100 also used 2 video cards.
I haven't kept up with all the latest technological improvements. It sure looks like there has been a quantum leap in development and play. I remember using a plain old ordinary keyboard to play the original Flight Simulator game back in 1984.
but the claim is that the GF100 blows all the competition out of the water
