I test TVs for a living — and this the only Mini-LED I'd buy under $500

It's a better-performing TV than most entry-level TVs thanks to its Mini-LED backlighting, and it offers many of the same features as higher-end Mini-LED TVs. Gamers are likely to squeeze the most value out of the U75QG, as it's loaded with gaming-related enhancements.

If you're like me, you're probably leery of deals that sound too good to be true. But the Hisense U75QG really does what it says on the box. I know because we brought it into our labs for testing.

In our Hisense U75QG review, we saw it output a peak brightness of 3,338 nits and a color accuracy score of 2.8 (where 0 is perfect). Compared to other $500 TVs, the U75QG offers three times the brightness and twice the color accuracy.

For gamers, the U75QG has both a fast response time under 10ms and four full-spec HDMI 2.1 ports. If you've got both a PS5 and Xbox Series X — or plan to add one to your home theater setup in the next few months — you'll appreciate having them.

If you're a PC gamer, there's an optional 165Hz refresh rate mode and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro VRR to boost gameplay speeds even higher, but don't feel like you need to use it to get the most out of the display.

For movie lovers, the Hisense U75QG comes with the Google TV smart platform and access to all the best streaming services like Netflix, HBO and Hulu. It integrates with Google Assistant and comes with Chromecast Built-in so you can cast content straight from your phone or tablet.
