Galaxy S26 Edge tipped for an iPhone 17-inspired redesign with Qi2 wireless charging on board

Yesterday, an early leak of dummy models for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge revealed a redesign that looks a lot like the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. Today, a set of leaked renders seems to confirm the new design while also claiming the next Edge will have Qi2 magnets.
The renders come from regular image leaker OnLeaks via Android Headlines. These are based on CAD files, usually used for making accessories, to show how a phone will look and its dimensions.
OnLeaks' renders show an expanded camera array that spans the width of the phone. It's very similar to the updated cameras on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max that are expected to be revealed on September 9.
New camera design
Though the S26 Edge only appears to feature two cameras, a main lens, and likely an ultrawide one. Unlike the iPhone 17 images we've seen, the other sensors also appear to stick close to the lenses where Apple's design moves them to the other edge of the phone.
Another regular Samsung leaker, Ice Universe, responded to the leaks on X saying that the camera redesign is meant to help store internal components that are being squeezed by the larger battery and thinner design.

"Its design intention is to put the components that cannot be accommodated in the body under the camera island, which is not empty," they wrote.
The camera array is supposed to be 10.8mm from the front of the phone to the top of the camera. So that is a little bit more space.

The Android Headlines report claims the device will measure in at 158.4 x 75.7 x 5.5mm (6.23 x 2.98 x .21 inches), which would be skinnier than the Galaxy S25 Edge that is 5.8mm thin.
Other rumors
The S26 Edge is reportedly going to have a larger battery than its predecessor and, according to report will also be getting Qi2 magnets. The renders don't show the magnets but it says says it's coming to the entire S26 series.
Several rumors have reported that the Galaxy S25 Plus may be the last version of the model, as the S26 Edge is supposedly going to replace it in Samsung's flagship lineup. Additionally, Samsung could rename the vanilla model as the Galaxy S26 Pro, a very strange choice on Samsung's part.
Lastly, the S26 Edge could get a larger 50MP main camera, a huge leap over the 12MP one on the current S25 Edge. If Samsung sticks to its current release schedule, we should see the new S26 Edge next January with a likely February shelf date.
