OnePlus 15 revealed to have an enormous battery that exceeds both Samsung and Apple — here's what we know

The OnePlus 15 is set to feature an enormous battery, which exceeds many of the best gaming phones.
Instead of going down the normal route of revealing the phone all at once, OnePlus has instead been slowly revealing new details of the phone through piecemeal posts on its Weibo account. The latest of these posts has revealed that the OnePlus 15 will feature a 7,300 mAh “Glacier battery.”
On top of having a huge reserve of power, the phone will also include 120W “Super Flash Charge” and 50W wireless charging.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 5,000 mAh battery, while the Google Pixel 10 Pro comes with a 5,200 mAh battery. The stated battery size also exceeds the OnePlus 13’s 6,000 mAh battery, as well as the 100W charging rate.
While the OnePlus 15’s battery size is certainly impressive, we can’t say for certain what it will mean for the phone's lifespan until it is put to the test. However, we’d expect it to at least match the OnePlus 13, which clocked in at 19 hours and 45 minutes in our testing.
Will we see the same battery sizes outside of China?
While a battery with a capacity of over 7,000 mAh is impressive, it’s not all that surprising in the Chinese market. However, due to regional variations in battery regulations, as well as shipping laws, we often end up seeing a smaller battery capacity in global versions of the devices.
For instance, the Honor Magic 7 Pro originally launched with a 5,850 mAh cell, but the global release instead featured a 5,270 mAh battery. As such, we can’t say for certain that the OnePlus 15 will launch with the same battery in other markets. On top of that, we have also seen OnePlus release devices with a reduced charging speed, as the OnePlus 13 was capped at 80W outside of China.

However, while the global release of the phone might not have the same battery, there’s still a fair amount to look forward to. For instance, in a prior Weibo post, OnePlus revealed that the phone will feature a 165Hz refresh rate, which is designed to offer the best experience with even the most demanding games.
On top of that, OnePlus also announced that the phone will feature a “Gaming Hand” temperature sensor. According to the post, this sensor covers ten key touch areas on the phone and can accurately reduce the temperatures by a cumulative 5.6°C. Meanwhile, the chip will be kept cool through what OnePlus calls "Ice River Chip Air Conditioning," which can cool the area up to 18°C
Regardless of the eventual battery size, it’s certainly looking like the OnePlus 15 could be a strong contender for the top spot on our best phone battery life page. The OnePlus 15 is expected to be released in China on October 27, with the global release likely to occur shortly after.
