I have one major issue with the Nintendo Switch 2. (Alright, two major issues — Game Key Cards are the bane of my existence.) But my first issue can be all but fixed with a simple $70 accessory.
That’s the Belkin Charging Case for Nintendo Switch 2. A $70 case may seem expensive, but it’s a purchase that solves two problems at once: firstly, it’ll keep your Nintendo Switch console protected from bumps, and secondly, it’ll charge the battery while you’re on the move.
This Nintendo Switch 2 case from Belkin has a super-smart design with a 10,000mAh power bank built in to keep your console charged while you're on the go. It's bulkier than most other Switch 2 cases, but the extra power is invaluable on long trips when you're away from a power outlet.
Practicality at its finest
You’ll get everything you’d want with a standard Switch case, including space for a console, 12 game cartridges and a mesh pocket for accessories. But you also get a 10,000mAh power bank, and a dedicated spot to store it under your Nintendo Switch 2. As a bonus, there’s even a hidden AirTag compartment so you can pop a tracker in and use it to keep an eye on your console’s location.
The power bank replenishes the Switch 2’s battery about 1.5 times over, which is solid. I plugged my Nintendo Switch 2 into the case for two hours and my Switch 2 charged up from 29% to 85% — where it stopped charging, since I have the “Stop charging around 90%” feature on to preserve my console’s long-term battery health. Meanwhile, the power bank’s LED display showed that it had 65% of its juice left.
My Switch 2’s battery life tends to last me two hours at a minimum, which isn’t as much as I’d like. But using the charging case, that expands up to a minimum of five hours, making my console a much more reliable companion for longer commutes, road trips and short-haul flights. Plus, if I’m playing older, less graphically intense titles I get even longer battery life — if you take Nintendo’s maximum Switch 2 battery life estimate of 6.5 hours into consideration, you could potentially get over 16 hours of playtime out of it with this.
There is a downside to this Belkin case, and that’s the fact that it’s bulky compared to other ones I’ve tried. But I’d much rather have a bulky case containing a console I can actually use than a slim case that holds a brick. Plus, the Switch 2 is already a fairly large handheld, so I’ll readily accept a little extra thickness in my case.
This Belkin case solves the Nintendo Switch 2's biggest problem, so I think it's well worth the asking price. It's even better value while it's on sale, so if you're not picking one up now, keep an eye out during Amazon's upcoming sales events.
