Prime Video top 10 movies — here’s the 3 I’m adding to my watchlist this week
These are the Prime Video movies worth watching right now

If you’re looking for something new for your Prime Video watchlist this week, then the streaming service’s top 10 most-watched list makes for a great starting point. This constantly rotating ranking gives you a snapshot look at what’s most popular on the Amazon-owned platform right now.
However, don’t mistake a high rank in the Prime Video top 10 for a bankable promise of quality. Take, for example, “Love Hurts,” which is currently sitting in the No. 2 spot despite this action-comedy holding a thoroughly poor 18% score on Rotten Tomatoes. To ensure you don’t waste your movie-watching time, I’ve combed through the current Prime Video top 10 movies and picked out the three worth watching. This article is based on the Prime Video top 10 most-watched movies list as of Tuesday, September 23.
Best movies in the Prime Video top 10
‘Novocaine’ (2025)
“Novocaine” is almost a superhero movie, as its protagonist, Nathan Caine (Jack Quaid), is unable to feel pain, which somehow allows him to perform illogical feats that only a superhuman could accomplish. Viewers obsessed with nitpicking logical failings should steer clear, but if you can just buckle up and enjoy the carnage on screen, you’re practically guaranteed to have a good time with this over-the-top action-comedy.
Nathan Caine is a mild-mannered introvert, born with an inability to feel pain. When his new co-worker, and maybe the girl of his dreams, Sherry (Amber Midthunder), is kidnapped by a group of bank robbers, Caine sets out to rescue her and uses his lack of feeling to his advantage in increasingly creative and seriously implausible ways. “Novocaine” is super silly and stretches its premise close to the breaking point, but overall, it's a fun ride.

‘Black Bag’ (2025)
I just ranked “Black Bag” as one of the best movies I’ve seen in theatres in 2025 (so far), and that’s relatively high praise considering I’ve watched more than 60 flicks in my local multiplex this year already. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, it’s a tense and sharply written spy thriller, and running a lean 95 minutes, it’s a perfect midweek watch if you want something gripping that doesn’t make significant demands on your precious free time.
Led by Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett, “Black Bag” sees an accomplished intelligence officer forced to investigate his wife when she’s suspected of being a double agent, testing his loyalty to his country and marriage in the process. Succeeding thanks to its engrossing sense of mystery and strong performances from the whole cast, “Black Bag” is one of the best original movies of 2025, and the current standout in the top 10.

‘The Bourne Legacy’ (2012)
Prime Video recently added the first four “Bourne” movies, and I’m a little shocked to see that 2012’s “The Bourne Legacy” is the one that’s stuck around longest in the top 10. For those unaware, this fourth entry in the action-thriller franchise is the only one that lacks Matt Damon’s eponymous Jason Bourne, and instead sees Jeremy Renner pick up the mantle as new lead Aaron Cross. While Damon is swapped out, the franchise's iconic tone is replicated, but the knotty plot might leave you a little cold.
Set during the events of “The Bourne Ultimatum,” Colonel Eric Byer (Edward Norton) is tasked with ensuring that the government’s involvement in top-secret intelligence programs remains hidden, and this cover-up effort includes eliminating several active agents. Among the targets is Aaron Cross (Renner), and alongside a research scientist (Rachel Weisz), this genetically-engineered spy goes on the run and attempts to finish what Bourne started.
