Thinking about starting a new Netflix series this week? Browsing the trending list might lead you to what’s trending right now, but just because a show is in Netflix’s top 10 doesn’t mean it’s actually worth your time.
I typically begin my weekly Netflix round-up this way, browsing the charts, but just like last week, the top 10 is loaded with great shows, so I’ve picked out the most recent and noteworthy recommendations. Here are the three shows I believe are most deserving of your streaming hours this week.
Note: This article is based on the Netflix U.S. top 10 as of Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

‘Radioactive Emergency’
For fans of gripping, drama-thrillers based on real events, the Brazilian limited series “Radioactive Emergency” is a must-watch. It retells the story of the Cesium‑137 accident in Goiânia, a defining radiological disaster in Brazil. The show interweaves different perspectives to portray the three-and-a-half months of chaos that followed the theft, highlighting the heroic efforts of Brazil’s scientific and medical community.
“Radioactive Emergency” begins when a forgotten radiotherapy device is unearthed at a scrapyard and dismantled, releasing dangerous radioactive cesium‑137 into the city. As the contamination spreads, physicists, doctors and emergency officials race against time to locate the source, contain the hazard and protect thousands of residents exposed to the material. The series follows their efforts to track the spread of contamination, manage the crisis and mitigate the impact on the community.

“The Dinosaurs” is a four‑episode documentary series that traces the chronological journey of dinosaur life from its earliest beginnings in the Triassic period to the final moments of the Cretaceous‑Paleogene extinction event. The first episode opens with tiny ancestral creatures emerging over 230 million years ago, followed by dinosaurs spreading, diversifying, and evolving into giants like Plateosaurus and apex predators such as Tyrannosaurus rex.

‘Beauty in Black’
“Beauty in Black,” a stylish and gripping drama, is fully created, written, and directed by Tyler Perry. The series marks one of Perry’s first major ventures with Netflix under his multi-year deal and uses a split-season approach, with season 2 released in two parts. Renewed for a third and final season, it’s an ideal pick for viewers who enjoy intense, twist-filled storylines.
Season 2 part 2 picks up with Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) settling into her new leadership role at the Bellarie beauty empire while facing relentless pushback from Horace’s (Ricco Ross) disapproving relatives and former executives. Charles (Steven G. Norfleet) deals with the fallout from violent events, Olivia (Debbi Morgan) complicates his situation, and internal betrayals ripple through the Bellarie clan. The fight over control of the company and its secrets reaches a breaking point.

Alix is a Senior Streaming Writer at Tom’s Guide, which basically means watching the best movies and TV shows and then writing about them. It’s a dream job for someone who’s been obsessed with storytelling since she first figured out how to work a remote.
Before joining Tom’s Guide, Alix honed her skills as a staff writer with outlets like Screen Rant and Bough Digital, where she discovered her love for the entertainment industry.
She heads to the cinema every week as a tradition, no matter what’s showing. For her, movies aren’t just entertainment — they’re a ritual, a comfort, and a constant source of inspiration. When she’s not at her desk or at the cinema, you’ll probably find her deep into a horror video game on her PC.
