These VPNs are the cheapest they've ever been – but only until the end of Cyber Monday

As VPN Editor at Tom's Guide, I've seen it all as far as Black Friday and Cyber Monday VPN deals go. A couple of extra months free here, a few dollars knocked off the price there. Unfortunately, some deals just aren't groundbreaking.

However, every year there always seems to be a handful of VPN brands that push the boat out – and this year has been no different. In fact, three of the biggest and best VPNs have launched best-ever deals, making them cheaper than I have ever seen them before.

I think this has been the best Black Friday on record for VPNs, and if you know you need one, I highly recommend taking advantage of one of these deals. You won't be getting a better price until next Black Friday – or, perhaps, ever.

Surfshark: VPN + antivirus for cheap

Surfshark is great value all year round, but this Cyber Monday deal is the best I've ever seen. It's on the One plan, which includes fully functional antivirus alongside the VPN.

You get:

🔒 Unlimited installs and data
🦠 Avira-backed antivirus
📺 Excellent streaming unblocking
❌ Slower speeds on long-distance connections

At $2.19 per month, over the course of 2 years, Surfshark One costs just $6 more than Surfshark's basic plan – excellent value considering dedicated antivirus software can cost more than that every month. This deal saves a decent $8 compared to regular price, and there's also a 30-day refund period so you can make sure it works well for you. Surfshark Starter is also available for $1.99 per month if you don't need antivirus.

I rate Surfshark as the best cheap VPN thanks to its polished apps, excellent speeds, and overall reliability. It has undergone audits to prove it never logs any of your activity, and it's also great for streaming.

However, this Cyber Monday deal doesn't apply to the basic Surfshark Starter plan – that plan's stuck at the admittedly reasonable price of $1.99 per month. Instead, Surfshark has chosen to discount its Surfshark One plan, for the very first time.

The biggest upgrade here is that Surfshark One adds antivirus onto everything you get with Surfshark Starter. Considering over the course of the two-year subscription you'll be paying about $6 more overall ($53 for Starter, $59 for One), it's a difficult deal to pass up.

ExpressVPN: the biggest surprise this Cyber Monday

ExpressVPN | 2 years + 4 months freeWas:$3.49 per monthNow: $2.44 per month at ExpressVPN 🔐 Class-leading privacy and security🚀 Great speeds on Windows📱 Super-simple, polished apps❌ Very little customization$2.44 per month

ExpressVPN | 2 years + 4 months free

Now: $2.44 per month at ExpressVPN
This is the first ever Cyber Monday deal ExpressVPN has launched – and it's a biggie. I've never seen ExpressVPN anywhere near this cheap before, and if you need a simple, reliable VPN, it's an excellent choice

What you get:

🔐 Class-leading privacy and security
🚀 Great speeds on Windows
📱 Super-simple, polished apps
❌ Very little customization

Prices start from $2.44 per month ($68 all-in), and higher tiers that include a password manager and even cyber insurance are also discounted. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee so you can make sure it's the right VPN for you.

ExpressVPN's deal was probably the biggest surprise over the weekend. Just a couple of months after a big shake-up of its prices – which included introducing a cheaper Basic tier – ExpressVPN launched its first ever Black Friday/Cyber Monday VPN deal.

This brought the price down to $2.44 per month, effectively making half the price it was before the price change.

The reduction applies on all levels of ExpressVPN's plans, so you can get a hefty discount on those too – great if you're looking to pick up cyber insurance alongside a VPN.

Be aware that I have spoken to ExpressVPN about this deal, and my contact has all but guaranteed that this discount will end on the stroke of midnight. If you want it, get it now.

Proton VPN Plus: simply the best price ever

Proton VPN is one of the most well-respected privacy providers around, but one thing it's not known for is being cheap. However, this Cyber Monday deal from Proton is the cheapest I've ever seen it – knocking a whopping $26 off your overall spend.

What you get:

🔐 World-renowned privacy credentials
📺 Excellent streaming performance
🚀 The fastest VPN speeds we've tested
❌ Beginners may find apps too complex

This is exclusive to Tom's Guide, and you won't find it cheaper anywhere else. It starts at $2.49 per month ($59.76 all-in) – and again, there's a 30-day refund period.

There's nothing "special" about this deal from Proton – no extra months, no added software. Quite simply, it's the cheapest I've ever seen two years of Proton VPN Plus go for.

I've seen Proton VPN Plus priced at anywhere between. $3.59 and $2.99 per month – the latter often during limited-time sales. However, this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it dropped to $2.49 per month, which is excellent value.

For context, Proton VPN is often just a little more expensive than all of its big rivals – NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and the rest. However, at this price, it's cheaper than NordVPN for the first time ever, and if it wasn't for ExpressVPN's surprise deal – featured above – it'd be cheaper than that, too.

Surfshark is still cheaper, but Proton offers more customization in its apps, and is better suited to experts. If you think Proton VPN is right for you, don't miss this deal.
