Whoa! HP just slashed $800 off my favorite RTX 5080 gaming laptop
Don't miss out on this RTX 50-series gaming laptop deal

Gamers have their eyes on Nvidia RTX 50-series laptops, but higher-end models can get pretty expensive. Thankfully, there are always good laptop deals to be found, and I've just discovered one for the first RTX-series gaming laptop I’ve reviewed.
Right now, the HP Omen Max 16 is $2,499 on HP’s website. It's not cheap, but you’re getting your money’s worth with this gaming notebook. I awarded this laptop with our Editor’s Choice badge, so it’s a machine I can easily recommend to anyone looking to seriously upgrade their portable gaming rig. Here’s why you should consider buying the HP Omen Max 16.
The HP Omen Max 16 is an exemplary gaming laptop thanks to its powerful RTX 5080 performance, vibrant 16-inch display, and elegant design. It also features an Intel Core 9 CPU, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. Thanks to this reduced price, it's hard to pass up!
At 14.04 x 10.59 x 0.9 inches and 6.1 pounds, the HP Omen Max 16 isn’t a thin or light laptop. However, it’s a looker thanks to its Shadow Black color and sturdy aluminum chassis. Its subdued design doesn’t mark it as a gaming laptop, but you can enable its per-key RGB lighting to show its fun side. You also get plenty of ports for connecting peripherals and an external monitor.
This HP Omen Max 16 packs an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, an Nvidia RTX 5080 GPU, 32GB, and 1TB of SSD storage. Games will look and run great at 1440p resolution and medium to high settings—especially if you enable DLSS 4 to get smoother frame rates and a sharper image.
Regarding visuals, the 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display is both bright and colorful. Thanks to the display’s size, you’ll have no trouble making out even the smallest details. The variable 60-240Hz refresh rate also ensures everything runs silky smooth. This version doesn't have an OLED panel like my review unit, but I don't think your eyes will complain much.
If you’re looking for a new gaming laptop, you won’t go wrong with this configuration of the HP Omen 16. This deal may not last long, so I urge you to act quickly before it's too late!
