I just discovered Siri has secret responses — 5 hidden easter eggs you need to try right now
I thought Siri was overrated, then I asked it this...
Siri is far more than a basic voice assistant. Hidden within its responses are clever shortcuts, pop culture nods, and secret phrases that most users never stumble upon. Some are genuinely useful, while others exist purely for amusement, but together they make chatting with your iPhone a lot more entertaining than just asking for the forecast.
Apple doesn’t highlight these quirks, and you won’t find them in any menu or manual. They’re tucked inside Siri’s programming, waiting to be triggered by the right question or command. Once you know what to say, you might start using them often — or at least have a few to show off to friends.
Here’s a look at some of the best Siri Easter eggs and hidden responses to try, from practical time-savers to fun surprises.
1. A new way to turn on your flashlight
Harry Potter fans will be pleased to know there's a magical way to turn on your flashlight. Say "Lumos" to Siri and your flashlight activates instantly —no need to dig through Control Center in the dark.
The spell references don't stop there. Use "Accio" followed by any app name to open it immediately. Say "Accio Safari" or "Accio Messages" and Siri launches the app like you've summoned it with magic.
2. Identify any song playing around you
Ever hear a song and need to know what it is immediately? If you say "Hey Siri, what song is this?" while music plays nearby and Siri uses built-in Shazam integration to identify it.
You get the song title, artist, and option to open it in Apple Music, without needing the separate Shazam app.
3. Find lost items using voice commands
If you're constantly misplacing things with AirTags attached, there's a voice shortcut that helps. Say "Hey Siri, where are my keys?" and Siri triggers the Find My app to make that AirTag beep, assuming you've named it "keys."
This works for any Apple device too — iPhone, iPad, AirPods, or Apple Watch. You can also ask Siri where specific friends are if you share locations through Find My.
4. Lock your phone instantly
There's a security command most people don't know about. Say "Hey Siri, lock my phone" if someone grabs it without permission or you need to secure it quickly.
The screen locks immediately, requiring Face ID or passcode to access again — even if you're across the room.
5. Make quick decisions with coin flips
Need to make a random decision but don't have a coin handy? Say "Hey Siri, flip a coin" and you'll get heads or tails instantly. Simple, but surprisingly useful when you need to settle something quickly.
Siri can also roll dice if you need a number between 1 and 6, perfect for board games or any situation requiring randomness.
