Two weeks after beginning production on its Roadster, Tesla said that 250 "special edition euro-spec" Roadsters are now available for order in Europe. The fully loaded car is priced at 99.000 Euro plus VAT, which means that the car, for example, will cost 117,810 Euro ($186,600) in Germany - which compares to a price of less than $106,000 in the U.S. The euro-spec Roadsters are scheduled for a 2009 delivery.

Tesla claims that the car will post a 0-60 acceleration of 3.9 seconds, a 13,000 rpm redline and a top speed of 125 mph while achieving a U.S. EPA rating of 256 MPG (equivalent).
