To try to put our theories to work, we used some reasonably but not extremely high-performance parts to build our test PCs. Both motherboards were built around the Intel P35 chipset. The Gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6 features DDR3 support while the Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 supports DDR2. Tables 1 and 2 summarize components and costs for each of our builds; Tables 3 and 4 summarize the two motherboards used.
