Santa Clara (CA) - Nvidia will position its MCP7A chipset, with integrated graphics processing (IGP), against Intel’s upcoming G45 chipset, beginning in April of 2008. The MCP7A will have two IGP versions, the -U and -S models. Both will provide support for Intel’s 1.333 GHz FSB, DirectX 10, HDMI, DVI, HDCP and PureVideo HD, as well as a dual-channel memory controller and support for hybrid SLI.
The MCP7C chipset will begin shipping in August, and will be a slightly slimmed down MCP7A version, costing about $10 less per board. It will support the same 1.333 GHz FSB, DirectX 10, HDMI, DVI, HDCP and PureVideo HD, but will come with a single-channel memory controller, like the MCP73 series.
