3. Cutting Edge Technology

Now that we've talked about the more trivial features, let's get down to serious matters. As we said, the MuVo TX has 128, 256 or 512 MB. Even people completely addicted to extremist mobile music will find something to put into their pockets, once they've emptied them. The MuVo TX reads MP3 files up to 320 kbps and WMA files up to 192 kbps. In UBS 2.0 mode, it is also a very speedy storage key. Your computer will recognize it as a drive in Windows XP without requiring a driver. All you'll need is the mouse to copy and paste the files.

Getting Organized

If you want to organize your MP3 library with playlists and all that jazz, the Creative MediaSource CD has a utility with the entire sound range. It is a no-nonsense tool with a Windows Explorer design and features that lets you rip CDs to MP3 or WMA files with the compression system of your choice. You can also file, classify and sort your music on the PC or the player. There is even an optimized MuVo transfer function which compresses in WMA format to make best use of the space available. Personally, I have little need for this kind of utility, preferring to file away in plain directories and use the MuVo as a hard drive, but to each his own. In any event, it is an extra that you certainly don't have to use if it's not your cup of tea.
