Music And Photos
9. Music And Photos
The Music section was a disappointment; the files were organized by their id3 tags into albums and artists only. Over the years, I have used several CD ripping programs, which have applied different tags when importing my CDs. SageTV evidently did not recognize all of the tag types, so the album organizer did not display all of the albums and album covers in my collection.
It was more consistent with the artists, but I was still not able to take full advantage of the music library. I found that it was easier to scroll through the song title list in order to select music to play. Playlists were not difficult to create using the remote. There was also an option to display "visualizations" while listening to music, but it turned out to be rather unspectacular.

The audio player/organizer was not very impressive..
The Photos feature contained a basic setup with photo thumbnails and a slideshow, including a picture fade option. Pictures can be organized into folders and sorted by name and date. There's nothing fantastic to be found in the photo section, but it's probably the least-used function of a media center, and in my opinion doesn't need to be overly robust.
