The Classiest Drive Enclosures You'll Ever See

Now all you need is some wine, an expanded vocabulary, and better hygiene

Why settle for plastic or aluminum, when you can pay a bit more for a genuine wood finish? BP Custom Woodworks is a two-man operation selling drive enclosures made from Walnut Wood, Jatoba, and Zebrawood.

Seems like BP has a fetish for dead trees, also selling a wine rack, a table, and a sushi serving board made from bamboo, cherry wood and maple respectively. All items—including the enclosures are handmade—meaning production is on a per-order basis, and buyers have to wait for at least two weeks before BP can even ship the item out.

Each enclosure is USB-powered and comes bundled with the USB cable. The drive hardware is also preinstalled (usually a 500GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue for HDD enclosures, or a Samsung SE-084 DVD-burner for optical drive enclosures). The good news is that this allows for a more seamless housing, but what happens when the hardware fails? BP will apparently accept custom orders, raning from higher hard drive capacities to unique designs, but these will definitely cost extra.

Check out BP's creations on their Etsy page. Prices sans shipping start at just below $100 and nearly hit the $150 at the other end. Apparently in an effort to attract buyers, BP implies that they will raise prices after an introductory period of sorts.
