15. Battery Tests
THG measures battery life using three typical real-world applications:
DVD Playback:A DVD video (Apollo 13) is played back until the battery runs flat. Presentation:

Here, the four game demos of 3Dmark 2001 SE are the basis for our battery-draining regimen.
All measurements were taken with the Windows power scheme "Portable/ Laptop." As mentioned before, it was not possible to determine what influence, if any, the Powerplay features had on battery life and performance, since the current driver (v7.88) does not yet implement all user-selectable settings.

With a fully charged battery that lasts for a maximum of three hours when using typical office applications, the Targa Visionary XP is not among the group of notebooks with the longest running times. It does prove, however, that a good, competitive and affordable notebook with decent performance can be assembled around a mobile AMD chip.
