Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell is a real resource hog. It uses both complex light/ shadow effects and pixel shader effects (v1.1). The frame rate is influenced in equal parts by 3D calculations and shadow calculations.

Yesterday's dream, today's reality: if you, unlike our sadistic testers, don't run the game at the highest possible quality settings, you'll be able to play at fluid frame rates at XGA resolution - on a notebook.
