For "couch potatoes," Toshiba includes an infrared remote control. This allows video to be controlled from the sofa.

The remote control is light (1 oz) and handy (2.1" x 2.3" x 0.3").

The IR port, the "eye" of the remote control, and an analog volume control are on the front right, on the lower part of the device. On the road, the remote control has its place in the weight-saver module, which is on the right side of the case in the style bay. For the style bay, Toshiba optionally offers modules in the form of a second battery, an additional optical drive, a hard drive or a bridge media adapter (combo read device for SM or CF card and memory stick).

The audio/ video ports are hidden behind a flap on the right in the front area of the case below the PC card slot.

Audio/ video ports: combination S/PDIF headset port, microphone port, audio-in and TV-out.

The TV-out can be activated simply by pressing a button. A corresponding TV button is above the keyboard, on the right next to the quick-start keys.

The image output on the TV is activated by the push of a button.
