1. FlyFan Improves The Workplace Climate

Kensington's USB Connected FlyFan

Whether it's a hot bus or subway car, an office with inadequate air conditioning or anywhere else where it's hot and you are tethered to your PC or laptop, things can get uncomfortable quickly in the summer. That's why you'll occasionally see co-workers bring one or more box fans to work, to help them keep their cool. But why drive tacks with a sledgehammer? Most of the time, you don't really need to cool the whole office, nor do you want to risk catching cold from too much moving air. A little bit of ventilation in the right place can do the trick, and that's what Kensington's FlyFan is supposed to deliver.

Putting this device to work is really simple: Just liberate the FlyFan from its sharp-edged plastic packaging, and then plug it into an available USB port on your desktop or notebook PC. Then position the gooseneck so that the wind is in your face (or wherever else you might want some cool air). This flexible stand is 16" (40 cm) long, so you can work it into just about any position you like, and direct cooling exactly where it's needed.

The FlyFan is secured tightly inside a sharp-edged plastic blister package. However, the only way to get at the fan is with a pair of scissors or a knife.

The FlyFan's light weight (2.3 oz/64 g) and its highly flexible fan blades make it easy to cram into even the smallest notebook bag.
