6. iTornado from Data Drive Thru Enables Syncing Between PCs and Macs
A device that automatically creates a peer to peer network connection between computers and enables file transfers was demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show. The iTornado is designed for connecting Mac to Mac, Mac to PC, or PC to PC. The iTornado overcomes the challenges that users encounter when trying to move data between PCs and Macs.
Inserting the retractable USB cables into each computer causes the iTornado to set up a peer to peer network. A split screen application appears on both computers, and the user can select which files or directories to move, and which direction the transfers are to be made (for example, from PC to Mac). The iTornado is useful for migrating data from one computer to another, and can make it easy for a PC user who wants to move to a Mac to automatically move data files.
The iTornado is priced at $79.95 and will begin shipping in March.
