11. Wild Charge Provides Wire Free Charging

WildCharge Inc. demonstrated its wire-free charger working with a variety of devices. The WildCharge device is a metal plate with alternating conductive strips. The plate is plugged into an AC outlet, and power is directed to a specially designed adapter that is connected to a device’s charger port. Cell phones are the first devices that can be used with Wild Charge. The charging adapter is placed on the WildCharge plate and electricity runs to devices connected to the adapter.

WildCharge enabled devices can be placed onto the plate at any angle, and will properly direct the charging with the correct DC polarity. The charger adapter may be parallel to, perpendicular, or at any angle in relation to the charger plate. When placed onto the WildCharge a connection is made and charging begins.

WildCharge can provide power up to 15 watts of power. Depending upon battery capacity the WildCharge can simultaneously charge as many as four devices. The product starts shipping this week

WildCharge is announcing that it is now making adapters for the iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry Pearl and Blackberry8800.

The WildCharge has a suggested price of $59.95. It is currently being installed onto gel cases for the above devices, and it can be used for other devices in other form factors. By itself the adapter will sell for $39.95, but it is probably unlikely that this component will be sold separately for installation by the consumer.

WildCharge has just started shipping.
