Century Tribe Drive Dock Maximizes USB 3.0
Potentially a great tool for those arduous multi-install sessions!
The Century Tribe promises to take full advantage of the USB 3.0 standard, by acting as a USB drive dock for your SSDs and HDDs. Practically mouse-sized, the Tribe just takes up enough space on your desktop to support a top-loading 2.5" slot, and the accompanying electronics.
While not small enough for a pocket, the dock is still portable enough to fit into that tricked out belt bag. As the USB 3.0 standard prescribes more power for peripherals, the Tribe doesn't need an external power supply to run that plugged-in drive.
Compatible OSes include Windows XP, Vista, and 7, as well as Mac OS X. Support for Linux wasn't specifically mentioned, but fanatic kernel coders should make short work of this apparent lack of functionality. Unfortunately, the Tribe is only available through Century's Japanese website for ¥4,580 (around $50). Here's to hoping the company finds a local distributor soon!
