5. Testing, Continued

The Durabook did fairly well for a notebook computer. As with Lame and Ogg, this is the first time we used Sandra to test notebooks. So, we don't have comparable data.

Like SYSMark 2004, the SYSMark 2007 benchmarks use real-world applications in multi-tasking environments. This is also our first time running SYSMark 2007 on a notebook computer. Soon we will have data that allow us to compare and contrast notebook performance under SYSMark 2007.

To the time of this writing BAPCo, the developer of SYSMark 2007, has released very little information on this new benchmarking suite. We will present a more complete technical discussion of SYSMark 2007 as information from BAPCo accumulates and as we build our library of comparative SYSMark 2007 benchmark results.
