Acer: Blu-ray Laptops To Account For 10% Of Shipments In 2008
Amid the upcoming launch of notebooks with Blu-ray disc (BD) optical drives, Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin stressed that every step Acer takes, including its shipments goal for BD notebooks, is in consideration of the company’s fundamental pursuit for an economic production scale. Acer aims to ship 22 million notebooks in 2008, with large-size BD notebooks and low-cost notebooks both regarded as focuses for deployment.
