Best Nintendo 3DS Games 2015

Nintendo has long been the king of portable gaming, and the Nintendo 3DS hosts some of the company's most cherished titles. The handheld system is home to some of the best installments of franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart and Fire Emblem, and third-party hits such as the engrossing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and retro-inspired Shovel Knight ensure that there's something for everyone.

With the $199 New Nintendo 3DS XL, you can enjoy the system's biggest hits with an improved 3D display, additional buttons and better processing power. The standard New Nintendo 3DS features a more portable design, and is sold in a $219 bundle that includes Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and two swappable faceplates. If you're on an especially tight budget, you can access the same fantastic game library with the $99 Nintendo 2DS, which nixes its big brother's clamshell design and 3D capabilities.

Whether you've just nabbed a new 3DS system or are simply looking to bolster your on-the-go game collection, here are our picks for the best games on Nintendo's handheld.

  • If I'd have to pick only one game from the list, I would go for "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds". I can personally recommend this game.

If a second had to be chosen I'd go for "Super Smash Bros".

And finally a third choice is a contested "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate" / "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D".

Those are my personal recommendations based on self gameplay.
