5. Let's Play PDA!

The player also has a docking station, which is a really good idea. This provides more than just stability: it is also a clever way to extend the device's connectivity. You can plug in the mains power to facilitate recharging and there are two cinch sockets (cable provided) to hook the Karma up to a sound system and play your music through that.

The Karma does not record directly. You use the cable provided to connect it, or its dock, to a computer with USB 2.0. The most surprising thing is the Ethernet input on the dock. You can use this to link the Karma to a domestic network. If the network is on DHCP, it can even have an IP. Otherwise, you set its parameters on the computer via a simplified Web interface. With this sort of connection, you can even install the Taxi application via the player and exchange files. That said, this is a bit of a gimmick, because the configuration is complicated and USB is a better solution.
