Nintendo Sells Its 1 Millionth 3DS in Japan
Nintendo is today celebrating a milestone for its glasses-free 3D handheld, the 3DS.
The 3DS is expensive and with 3D technology still in its infancy, it’s only natural that people are a little wary of dropping $250 on something that may soon be considered old or out of date. Still, though 3DS sales have been slower than its predecessors, they’re creeping steadily upwards.

Japanese blogger Andriasang reports that 13 weeks after its launch, the 3DS has passed the one-million-sales mark in Japan. While it’s definitely a cause for celebration for Nintendo, it’s also worth mentioning that the original DS did it in four weeks and the DS Lite and DSi each took just eight weeks. Still, it’s not all bad; the DSi XL took almost twice as long as the 3DS, at 25 weeks.
As far as the United States is concerned, NPD (via Gamasutra) reports that Nintendo has sold 700,000 3DSes, with 400,000 of those being sold in the first week of availability.

are there any games for it yet besides street fighter, and zelda in a few days?
There's the back catalog of DS games...
I agree the only thing the 3ds has to offer to me is the Zelda Ocarina of Time... other than that i see zero reason to get it based off the games.
To Nintendo: When releasing a new system as the followup to a previous one that has significant saturation, if you do not offer a significant upgrade, then developers will stick with the one that has the greater market penetration.
In short: 3DS = Fail. Not enough of an upgrade to justify moving development fom the DS.
I wonder what the future of the 3DS will be.
