Motorola has finally confirmed an Android event for September 10 during Mobilize 09.
Invitations were sent out to bloggers and journalists on Wednesday; and GigaOm yesterday confirmed that co-CEO of Motorola Sanjay Jha would be launching the company’s Android portfolio during his keynote speech at GigaOm's Mobilize event in September.
Rumors and reports about Motorola's plans for an Android-based cell phone go back nearly a year. The company confirmed its plans to develop an Android handset at the beginning of October 2008, however very few specifics were known. There were brief whispers about a social networking smartphone, though nothing is set in stone so it will be interesting to see what Motorola has up its sleeve.

Love my G1 w/ android. can do some amazing things with it like auto-start bittorrent downloads with DROID. Only downfall is the battery life - if motorola can make an android phone with a 48hr battery life, they'd have a winner
