FarmVille was one of the games that put developer Zynga on the map. Though the game has kind of peaked, it seems someone feels the horse isn't dead yet, because FarmVille is coming to our TV screens.
According to Deadline, Rush Hour and X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner is set to produce the animated TV series, which will consist of 30-minute episodes. It seems things are still in the early stages of production, though, as Deadline reports no network has attached itself to the series just yet. Despite this, Ratner is pretty jazzed about the project, even going as far as to call FarmVille one of the most exciting brands out there.
"FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience," Deadline quotes him as saying.
This will not be our first taste of animated FarmVille fun. Zynga released an animated short titled A Very FarmVille Christmas in December 2011. The short's plot saw the various animals send letters to Santa in time for Christmas.
