Higher Cable Rates Boosts Comcast's Q2 Profit
Comcast said Wednesday its second-quarter profit rose 8% as cable TV rates rose and consumers ordered more digital and premium services. But that was still shy of Wall Street’s forecast. The second quarter is traditionally slower for the company because snowbirds and students disconnect their cable for the summer.

What in the world is a 'snowbird' (other than a penguin)?
Here is my recent experiences where I lived in range of Comcast.
Adelphia territory purchased by Comcast = Rates Increased
Insight territory purchased by Comcast = Rates Increased
Both times, the 'official' press releases said "Good news for customers, more options & the price to stay the same"... LIES!!!
Interestingly, I was without cable internet for 3 weeks, Comcast told me "your modem is bad..." my response, "all of my neighbors modems must be bad too as they are also with out service", there response "yep..." - Golden!
What in the world http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_in_the_World is a 'snowbird' (other than a penguin)?
A snowbird is Someone who travels from the South i.e. Florida to New York during the summer months. Then Back to Florida in the Winter.
When Comcast took over Adelphia in my area, my combined internet/cable bill went up less than $5 and my connect speed went from 6mb to 8mb. I thought that was a fair trade.
Comcast is the worst company, they don't need to expand, they sue every fucking company or buy them out if they don't get all the profits.I will never buy Comcast, unless it's the only choice and it's free,if I have to pay loads for it,forget it,it's not worth it.
