If you’re hunting for running shoe deals in the Amazon Big Spring Sale, New Balance is the brand you need to be looking at, because many of the brand’s sneakers have crashed to their lowest ever price.
That includes the New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 dropping to $95 at Amazon, and although the price does vary with the color and size of the shoe you pick, there should be a great deal available on the shoe for most-comers.
I ran 40 miles in the New Balance Hierro v9 during my testing and found it impressively comfortable for a trail shoe, and it’s also a great shoe for fast hikes where you don’t need or want a full boot on your feet.
This is the best price I’ve found on the Hierro v9 in the Amazon sale, with the discount varying by color and size. This deal is on the women’s shoe, while the men’s Hierro v9 is available for $114 in the green color, but clicking through the various options will throw up different prices. The Hierro v9 is a comfortable trail-running and hiking shoe that’s great for active trips.
The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 is an all-terrain or road-to-trail running shoe, which means it’s comfortable on both road and off-road surfaces. It’s one of the best trail-running shoes I’ve tested for that purpose thanks to its high level of comfort.
It’s not the best pick for technical mountain trails because its high stack makes it unstable on jagged rocks, but that high level of cushioning is the shoe’s key feature on tamer trails and the road.
I found it very comfortable for runs of any length, and it grips well on most off-road surfaces thanks to the Vibram outsole, while also delivering reliable traction on wet and dry roads.
The comfortable design and trustworthy grip of the Hierro v9 mean that it’s also a good option for hikes on mixed terrain, and I like the look of the shoe for casual use too, meaning it’s a good all-round option for active holidays.
It might take a bit of effort to find the best price on the shoe in your size, since the discount varies with color and size, but it’s worth digging because if you can get the Hierro v9 for under $100 it’s certainly a bargain.
