The Roborock F25 ACE Pro is a great option for anyone who deals with a lot of spills and stubborn floor stains in their home. It makes light work of muddy shoe prints, condiment spills, and leaves floors almost sparkling, and is certainly a contender for best vacuum in the wet and dry category.

It’s also very quick to get the job done and takes hardly any effort, gliding over floors and swiveling with the motion of your wrist. But for anyone needing to clean their whole home at once, the battery life may not be enough, while the lack of heat settings for sterilization could put some users off.

Roborock F25 ACE Pro review: Price & availability

The Roborock F25 ACE Pro is available from Amazon for $599. You can also purchase the wet and dry vacuum directly from Roborock’s online store for $699. This is a great price, as the cleaning is very effective.

Alternatively, the Eureka RapidWash is a slightly more affordable option for $499. However, it doesn’t provide the deep clean needed to properly remove muddy foot steps dragged in from the yard.

For a powerful clean, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine offers impressive stain removal but costs $949. Although this wet and dry vacuum costs a little more, the head is interchangeable, so you get a powerful vacuum that can tackle carpet too.

But if you want something a little more intensive that’s going to sterilize as well, you can look to the Dreame H15 Pro Heat for $899, which uses 185ºF water to clean floors. I personally prefer a wet and dry vacuum with a heat setting, but the Roborock F25 ACE Pro is still great for cleaning up spills quickly.

Roborock F25 ACE Pro review: Design

The Roborock F25 ACE Pro has an all-black, sleek design. Despite having space for a whole lot of water, the vacuum isn’t very bulky and measures 43.3 x 10.4 x 9.8 inches. It’s actually very lightweight too, weighing just 11 pounds. The neck of the vacuum is slim, with a handle at the top where the control buttons sit. It’s a good thing the vacuum is so agile to use, as it can lie flat to 180º to get underneath furniture for easier cleaning. It’s very easy to maneuver.

The base of the vacuum, where the roller mop is, holds the clean water and cleaning solution. This clean tank holds 33.8 fluid ounces of water, which is enough water to clean up to 5,866 square feet, depending on the mode being used. Also at the bottom of the vacuum is the detergent tank, which forms the spray at the front of the mop. This detergent tank holds 3.4 fluid ounces, and the detergent is included when you purchase the mop.

Moving further up, the body of the vacuum holds the dirty water tank and filter. This tank holds 24.3 fluid ounces of water that is sucked up as the vacuum mops. With the 25,000Pa suction, the wet and dry vacuum also picks up debris, including hair. There’s a filter bucket in this tank that you can pull up to separate the water from the debris, making it simple to empty.

When storing the vacuum for self-cleaning and charging, it goes on the charging dock. When I first picked this up, I was shocked at how lightweight it was. I worried that this meant it wasn’t going to be able to support the vacuum properly when drying, but there were no issues with this. When the vacuum is stored on the dock, it measures 45.9 x 13.9 x 12.4 inches.

Roborock F25 ACE Pro review: Cleaning performance

The Roborock F25 ACE Pro is for use on hard flooring only; if used on carpets, it will make them damp. If you want something that can do both, you should look at the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine, as the interchangeable head means it works well on carpet too, since you can turn it into a regular vacuum.

But the Roborock completely excels at cleaning up messes and pills on hard flooring. It’s also very easy to use as the “SlideTech 2.0” technology ensures the mop is doing all of the work for you by gliding along the floors. The base of the vacuum also swivels very easily, so I could guide it exactly where I wanted with no fuss.

Edge-to-edge cleaning also means that it cleans exactly where it’s placed. It did a great job of getting super close to baseboards during testing. But my favorite part about this vacuum is the spray foam… okay, maybe that’s because it’s fun to use — but it also does a great job of distributing the detergent.

To use this feature, I pulled the yellow trigger in the handle of the vacuum, and foam sprayed out just in front of the rollers, laying down the solution for the mop to clean. I also like that I had a decent amount of control over the amount of detergent being used when cleaning — I was working with a tougher stain, so I could use a little more spray.

However, if your home suffers the consequences of pets, children, and clumsiness alike, and you find yourself with tougher stains, then I would recommend using a wet and dry vacuum with a heat setting, like the Dreame H15 Pro Heat. This removes more stubborn stains much faster and disinfects as it goes.

Lab testing

To test out how well the mopping function performed, we carried out our standardized lab testing, which involves getting a little messy. To the hard flooring, I added an ounce of mayonnaise, an ounce of soy sauce, and a whole load of muddy boot prints. I used a Heist 3.0 hair dryer to dry on sections of each stain, to test performance against wet and dried-on spills.

After leaving all of these stains to settle and dry down, I went in with the mop. It took around 7 minutes to clean the entire 2m2 area. It used about half a tank of clean water to get these stains cleaned up. It struggled with the wet soy sauce at first, smearing it over the floor, but on the second pass, it started to wipe up. It had no issues with the dry soy sauce.

It also struggled to clean the dried muddy boot prints at first, as once it rewetted the dry mud, it smeared around the floor. But once I sprayed the foam, everything was packed up quickly. The wet mud was wiped up with ease.

The mopping was also very effective on the wet and dried-on mayo, and the detergent ensured there was no oily residue left behind. Overall, the Roborock did a great job at cleaning up tough messes quickly.

Roborock F25 ACE Pro review: Storage & maintenance

As I mentioned earlier, the Roborock F25 ACE Pro needs to be stored on the dock for charging and drying the mop. When the vacuum is docked, the whole assembly measures 45.9 x 13.9 x 12.4 inches. I store my wet and dry vacuum at home in the storage closet and pull it out when I need to plug it in, so it stays out of the way. I think it adds too much clutter to the space if left out, since it’s a bit large even for a docked vacuum.

After each use, the F25 ACE Pro needs to be cleaned. This is done with a 205º smart self-cleaning cycle, which also dries the mop. This process uses 170ml of clean water from the tank, so you need to make sure there’s enough water left over from the cleaning process, or fill it up again.

When drying, you can choose between fast drying, which takes five minutes, or quiet drying, which takes 30 minutes. I opted to use the quiet drying option, which operates at around 48db, as I wasn’t in a rush, but it’s great to have the option of both. You just need to be aware that the quick-dry option is a lot louder at 75db.

After this process was complete, I emptied the dirty water tank. This is a pretty gross process once you see what comes up off the floor, but it’s made a lot easier with the filter basket. This basket catches the solid debris so you can easily take it out of the water and throw it into the bin without having to actually touch any of it.

You can purchase replacements for the detergent and extra rollers from the Roborock online store.

Roborock F25 ACE Pro review: Battery life

The Roborock F25 ACE Pro had enough battery life to clean up all of the messes I had to deal with, but if you want to clean your whole house in one go, you might end up pressed for time if using higher power settings, as it drains faster. I cleaned up the biggest messes quickly using Eco Mode. This had more than enough elbow grease to get the job done, but if you’re dealing with something more intensive or need to move quickly, a more powerful mode will work better.

Auto Mode and Sponge Mode have around 40 minutes of juice while Max Mode only gives you 30 minutes. This is a common theme across all of the wet and dry vacuums I’ve tested, and it makes sense: the more cleaning power you’re using, the less life you’ll get. But I think an hour of cleaning with Eco Mode gets the job done pretty well.

If you run out of battery mid-clean you’ll be waiting around a while though, as the Roborock takes four hours to charge up.

Roborock F25 ACE Pro review: Verdict

The Roborock F25 ACE Pro is an agile wet and dry vacuum that has no issue cleaning up even the toughest, dried-on stains. The foaming spray function effortlessly cuts through spills to help the roller mop break up oils and stains. The suction also picks up any debris that may be hiding around, while leaving floors mostly dry. It takes hardly any effort to move it across the floor as it glides all by itself and swivels with the motion of your arm. The roller mop is also self-cleaning with a dock, making maintenance a total breeze.

However, for tougher stains, a heated mop would be better, and unfortunately, the Roborock doesn’t have any heat settings. The battery life is also pretty short when using the more powerful cleaning modes, although I don’t think you necessarily need to use these, as Eco Mode was powerful enough when I was cleaning. That said, this is certainly a top choice for cleaning hard flooring.
