Whenever I have any spare time, you’ll find me in the kitchen baking a cake or a batch of cookies. During the holiday season, I’m permanently fixed to my countertops, using one of the best stand mixers and baking on repeat.
But I have one big problem. I quickly run out of countertop space to cool down my holiday cookies. With multiple appliances on my countertops, including an air fryer, a bread machine, and baking equipment, the only space left is the floor, which is a no-go area for food.
Juggling where I place numerous cooking racks adds to the holiday stress of trying to make everything perfect and run to plan. But, thankfully, IKEA has come to the rescue with a new bargain baking aid.
Rather than battling with single cooling racks, IKEA has launched a foldable baking sheet rack with four racks. The SVARTABBORE retails for $14.99 at IKEA, and could be my saving grace this holiday season.
This IKEA baking rack is simple in design, yet ingenious, allowing you to place four baking sheets in a small space. What's more, it folds up quickly for easy storage. If you like to batch bake it could be the best product you buy before the holidays.
A kitchen space-saver
What’s more, apart from being used to cool down your cookies and other holiday treats, the SVARTABBORRE rack can be used as a holding station before your baking trays go into the oven. And once removed, the hot trays can be safely left to cool without being stored in a dangerous spot, overhanging a countertop, or near where little hands can reach.
It’s also easy to store, and can be folded up and placed in a drawer, or left neatly on your countertop. Measuring just 10.75 (W) x 1.5 (H) x 22 (L) inches when folded, it’s a neat tool to have in your baking kit.
The baking rack comes in black and is made of steel, with an epoxy powder coating that gives it a smart, matt finish. It’s also super easy to clean, and only requires a wipe over with a dry cloth.
For under $15, I think IKEA is onto a winner this holiday season, and I’m going to be adding one of its SVARTABBORRE baking racks to my kitchen.
