Smeg is known for its bold, retro designs — and its luxury statement kitchen appliances are hard to miss. Right now the Italian company has shifted up another gear, announcing its latest collaboration with Porsche.

It’s an exciting blend of two legendary brands, both driven by high-end precision and design. But as you’d expect with a partnership like this, the offering is limited, so you’ll have to be quick to snap up a limited edition appliance that’s designed to inspire both Smeg fans and motoring enthusiasts alike.

You can check out what’s on offer and sign up to be notified when it's available online or visit Smeg’s New York showroom. Shopping in the U.K.? The collection is available to buy online right now.

Excellence in design and engineering

The partnership extends across three exclusive ranges and features signature Porsche finishes like Carrara White Metallic, Shade Green Metallic, and matte black accents, which are reimagined across Smeg’s fridges, kettles, toasters and blenders.

And as you’d expect from such a collaboration the core principles behind the partnership are based on excellence in design and engineering.

“At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared philosophy: to craft objects that are not only functional but also emotionally resonant," says Stefan Büscher, CEO of Porsche Lifestyle Group.

"Porsche, with its legacy of engineering excellence and motorsport triumphs, and Smeg, renowned for its iconic appliances and Italian design flair, have come together to create a collection that is as bold as it is beautiful.”

Meanwhile, Vittorio Bertazzoni, Chairman of Smeg, says, “Collaborating with Porsche has allowed us to push the boundaries of what a kitchen appliance can represent. This collection is a tribute to craftsmanship, to legacy, and to the beauty of everyday rituals.”

Designed for motoring enthusiasts

Even though I’m no motoring enthusiast, I can see how these exclusive ranges will entice motorsports fans, and how popular the striking designs will be.

The Salzburg Red range includes the striking Red FAB28 fridge and matching BCC12 bean-to-cup machine, each limited to 1,970 numbered units. The Carrara White Metallic and Shade Green Metallic ranges include the FAB28 fridge, TSF01 Toaster, KLF03 Kettle and BLF03 Blender.

If I was to pick one appliance from the launch, I would select the Red Salzburg 917 fridge. To me, it’s the most iconic Smeg design and is the clear winner. Although be warned — the price might take your breath away — it’s $4,499. If you want to save a few bucks, the Carrara White and Shade Green colorways are $3,999, but you don’t get the number 23 detailing.

However, if you’d prefer to stick with the Salzburg 917 collection, another option is the Bean-to-Cup coffee machine, for $1,599 — perfect for making your morning cup of joe while taking a pit stop in the kitchen.

If countertop appliances are more your style, and you can’t justify spending over $4,000 on one of the best refrigerators, you could buy the matching blender, toaster and kettle, in either the Carrara White or Shade Green colorway, for $1,147. It’s a great way to enjoy a cohesive look without the bigger price tag.
