Prime Video top 10 movies — here’s the 3 I’m adding to my watchlist this week
These are the best movies in the Prime Video top 10 right now
It’s the start of a new week, and it’s the perfect time to start compiling your watchlist for the coming days. Whenever I’m looking for something new to watch on the best streaming services like Prime Video, I always first check the platform’s top 10 most-watched list to see what my fellow subscribers are currently enjoying for some inspiration.
However, if I’ve learned anything over the years I've spent tracking the Prime Video top 10 daily, it’s that a high ranking on the list doesn’t automatically guarantee a quality flick. It’s not uncommon for a lackluster pick to find its way into the ever-rotating ranking. That’s why I’ve combed through the current Prime Video top 10 and picked out my personal highlights.
These picks are based on the Prime Video top 10 as of Monday, November 10, and with that said, let’s dive into the three Prime Video movies that are getting a spot in my own watchlist this week.
Best movies in the Prime Video top 10
‘Tyler Perry’s Finding Joy’ (2025)
Tyler Perry’s already found success on Prime Video earlier this year with his mystery thriller “Duplicity,” and his latest project looks to be another streaming smash hit. “Finding Joy” is among the first holiday movies released on Amazon’s streaming service, and subscribers must be ready to get into the seasonal spirit as it’s rocketed straight to the No. 1 spot less than a week after its debut. Kudos to Perry for his consistent streaming wins.
“Finding Joy” follows, you’ve guessed it, a woman named Joy (Shannon Thornton). She’s a New York City fashion designer, underappreciated at work, and forever unlucky in love. When she impulsively follows her crush, Colton (Aaron O’Connell), to Colorado in the hopes of a holiday romance, she’s left stranded by a snowstorm. But that’s when she meets Ridge (Tosin Morohunfola), who might be the catalyst for turning around her fortunes.

‘Red One’ (2024)
“Red One” was a holiday favorite last year, so I’m not surprised to see it climbing the top 10 charts now that the festive season is on the horizon. Critics and viewers disagree on this holiday-themed blockbuster; the former scored it a low 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, but viewers have awarded it a much higher 89%. If you’re looking for a seasonal movie that's packed with action, special effects, and plenty of star power, then “Red One” has it all.

Dwayne Johnson plays the North Pole’s head of security, considering retirement after losing his enthusiasm for Christmas. However, he must spring into action when a mysterious criminal crew kidnaps Santa Claus (J. K. Simmons). Joining forces with a cynical bounty hunter (Chris Evans), it’s a race against time to locate Santa and save the holidays. And along the way, its two leads might just discover the true meaning of the season as well.

'Hedda’ (2025)
After a slower start to its streaming life, I’m delighted to see “Hedda” is still making waves in the Prime Video top 10. From filmmaker Nia DaCosta, this lavish drama adapts the world-renowned play Hedda Gabler by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, and stars Tessa Thompson in the eponymous role. It mixes modern sensibilities with its classic source material, and with DaCosta behind the camera, you just know it's a remarkably well-constructed drama.
Pitched as a “provocative, modern reimagining” of its source material, “Hedda” sees the titular character caught between the past and the present. Set over a single night, it covers plenty of dramatic ground from long-repressed love to heart-aching betrayal. Also starring Nina Hoss, Imogen Poots, Tom Bateman and Nicholas Pinnock, it holds an impressive 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
