Is there anything better than spending two hours on the edge of your seat, watching an action hero go up against the odds? Sometimes, action is all you want, and if that's your movie vibe right now, Prime Video is one of the best streaming services you can turn to.
If you're looking for streaming recommendations that'll really get your adrenaline pumping, I've put together a brief list of films that I think should fit the bill.
That round-up includes a new arrival that's quickly risen into Prime Video's top 10, the latest instalment in a legendary action franchise, and an intense wartime thrill-ride. Below, you can find the three action movies I'd add to my Prime Video watchlist right now.
Article continues below'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' (2025)
I reviewed "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" last summer, and while I stand by my criticisms, it still deserves a spot on this list. Fact is, if you're simply after big-screen, blockbuster thrills, "Mission: Impossible" is the franchise to turn to, and "The Final Reckoning" offers some of the very best stunt sequences I've ever seen on the big screen; Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) awe-inspiring mid-air and underwater escapades alone make it worth watching.
Yet to dive in? Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) final outing picks up after the events of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, and sees him and his IMF team continuing the fight to try and prevent the rogue artificial intelligence known as "The Entity" from destroying human civilization as we know it.

'Sisu' (2023)
If you're after a more intense affair, "Sisu" is the movie for you. Jalmari Helander's action-packed wartime revenge thriller takes place towards the end of World War Two and introduces us to Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila), a former commando turned gold prospector who's living a humble life in northern Finland.

After stumbling upon a sizeable deposit, he crosses paths with a platoon of German soldiers who mistake him for an easy target and rob him — but underestimating this one-man army proves to be their last mistake, as Aatami proves in gleefully violent fashion. Intrigued? You'd better add it to your watchlist soon — "Sisu" is slated to leave Prime Video in just 12 days, at the time of writing.

'The Running Man' (2025)
Let's round out the list with a recent (and popular!) arrival: Edgar Wright's new take on "The Running Man." Here, we meet down-on-his-luck average Joe, Ben Richards (Glen Powell). In an effort to earn enough money to get the medicine his daughter needs, Ben signs up for his dystopian world's most popular TV show, "The Running Man."
His task? Go on the run and survive 30 days. Successful "Runners" stand to earn a colossal cash prize if they make it out alive... but as he's pursued by the show's "Hunters," a team of deadly professional assassins who are out to get him, the odds are very much not in his favor. However, our angry antihero proves more capable than everybody expected, making him a fan-favorite with the viewers at home ... and also a threat to the system that "The Network" has built.

If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
