15 laptop deals I'd buy with my own money — save on Alienware, Dell, Apple and more this weekend

Now that most students are back in school, retailers are starting to wind down their back to school sales. At least that's how things used to work. This year is a little different and I'm noticing some of my favorite laptop deals from Labor Day are actually still available.
For example, Lenovo's end-of-summer sale is still offering laptops from $419. The sale includes mainstream machines as well as some gaming rigs from the company's LOQ and Legion series.
As a MacBook Air user, I'm always looking for Apple deals and right now Amazon has MacBooks on sale from $897. My personal favorite deal at Amazon is the 15-inch MacBook Air (M4) on sale for $999. Yes, the 13-inch model is also on sale, but it was a few bucks cheaper earlier in the week. The 15-inch model is currently at an all-time price low and one of the best laptops we've tested.
Finally, I'm a big fan of the XPS 13 for $899 at Dell. This configuration packs a 13.4-inch 2K display, Intel Core Ultra 5-226V CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It's a nice machine for work, home, or school.
Below I've rounded up my favorite laptop deals right now. Every machine I'm recommending is guaranteed to last you for several years thanks to their impressive spec sheets. (For more deals, check out our guide to the best cheap laptop deals).

The Acer Aspire Go 15 made our list of the best laptops as the best value pick, and it's even better value now that it's on sale for a discount! You get a roomy 15.6-inch display, 10 hours of battery life and plenty of ports. We also like its comfortable keyboard, and its Intel Core i3 processor is enough to handle everyday tasks. The webcam and speakers aren't great, but that's not too bad for the price.
The OmniBook 5 is a powerful AI-based laptop that doesn't cost a fortune. In fact, it's downright cheap at this price. It features a gorgeous 16-inch 2K display, Core Ultra 7-255U CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD. Whether you're using it at work or at school, it's a budget friendly mainstream machine that won't disappoint.

Gaming
By far the best deal I've seen on an RTX 5050 gaming laptop all year, the Alienware 16 Aurora is now $300 off, and it only recently launched. Along with its RTX 5050 GPU, expect an Intel Core 7-240H CPU, 16GB of RAM, 512GB for storage, and a 16-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Save big on this RTX 5060-powered HP Omen 17.3" configuration, an ideal pick for casual games or graphically intensive games at lower settings. It’s equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 5 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. You also get a 17.3-inch 1080p 144Hz display.
If you're looking to lock in with an upgrade on the classic Aurora laptop, the 16X model is a step up (though it's also pricier). Fortunately, there's $200 off this build with Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD and an RTX 5060 GPU. Display wise, you're looking at WQXGA with a 240Hz refresh rate.
As another gaming laptop that can pump out wicked gaming performance in a sleek design, the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 is now on sale for a discount. You can expect an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, an RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD. The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S has everything you need for solid mid-range gaming. It sports a 16-inch OLED display with a sharp 1600p resolution, an Intel Core "Lunar Lake" Ultra 9 CPU, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and an RTX 5070 Ti GPU. Combine that with its elegant chassis and generous port selection, and this is a fantastic gaming laptop deal.
This HP Omen Max 16 with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU is now one of the cheapest RTX 50-series gaming laptops I've seen, all thanks to this $600 price cut. It packs some powerful specs, too, with its Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Throw in its 16-inch 2K (1920 x 1200) display with 165Hz refresh rate, and you're looking at a mid-range gaming laptop that packs a punch.
The Alienware 16 Area 51 Laptop is a new 2025 machine powered by Nvidia's new RTX 5070 Ti GPU. This configuration also features an amazing 16-inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz LCD, Core Ultra 9-275HX CPU, 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Yes, it's pricey, but this is one of the first discounts we've seen on Alienware's just-released laptops.
