Nvidia's RTX 50 SUPER GPUs looking to skip 2025 entirely — here's when they could launch
Thinking of an RTX 50 SUPER GPU upgrade? You may be waiting until 2026

Nvidia's RTX 50 SUPER GPUs may not arrive until 2026 after all, with a tipster noting a "delay" and reports suggesting the graphics cards were never planned to launch until 2026.
As per a post from known hardware leaker hongxing2020 on X, the rumored RTX 5080 SUPER, RTX 5070 Ti SUPER and RTX 5070 SUPER have been delayed. While no reason for this delay has been specified, if accurate, this would point to an expected reveal at CES 2026 — as with Nvidia's RTX 50-series GPUs at CES 2025.
This is despite a leak stating the SUPER GPUs may arrive before the end of 2025. Previously, tipster Moore's Law is Dead revealed that Nvidia would discontinue the base RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti this October, suggesting Team Green would be making way for SUPER models to launch. If there is a delay, we may not see these graphics cards in 2025 after all.
09.10 update RTX50 SUPER series delay …🥲September 10, 2025
However, other reports state that Nvidia didn't plan on releasing its RTX 50 SUPER graphics cards before the end of the year. According to sources speaking to Wccftech, Nvidia's RTX 50-series GPUs are still in full-cycle, and SUPER variants were never planned to launch in Q4 2025.
Moreover, the report notes that the upgraded cards may not even show up at CES 2026. That said, a report from VideoCardz details that board partners expect RTX 50 SUPERs to be revealed at CES 2026.
Since Nvidia hasn't officially announced its RTX 50 SUPER GPUs, it's best to take this all with a pinch of salt. It's clear that rumors are scattered, but with CES 2026 coming up, it looks to be a likely stage for Team Green to announce its refreshed graphics cards.
When will RTX 50 SUPER GPUs arrive?
Following in the footsteps of its previous generations of graphics cards, it's almost certain that Nvidia will deliver an RTX 50 SUPER series of GPUs. It appears to be a matter of "when."

With the October launch rumored, it would be an early release for Nvidia's next SUPER series compared to past launches. Nvidia's SUPER models generally launch around 12 months after the release of the base models. Now, seeing as the original RTX 50-series were announced at CES 2025, it makes sense that the SUPER variants would take the spotlight at CES 2026 in January.
From there, we could see the launch of the RTX 5080 SUPER in Janaury, with the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER and RTX 5070 SUPER to follow. To note, the RTX 5080 launched on January 30, while the RTX 5070 Ti was released in February and the RTX 5070 came to shelves in early March.
Pricing and specs have also been rumored, with the big upgrade expected to be a boost in VRAM. Notably, the RTX 5080 SUPER and 5070 Ti SUPER may come with 24GB of GDDR7 video memory, and the 5070 SUPER with 18GB. This comes from leaker Kopite7kimi, with Moore's Law is Dead also leaking the same specs.

The upgraded specs are expected, but aren't certain, as we won't know until Nvidia officially reveals its next suite of RTX 50 SUPER GPUs. Hopefully, these turn out to be true, as more VRAM would be largely welcome.
We'll know more once Nvidia spills the beans, but in the meantime, find out how the upgraded Nvidia GeForce Now with RTX 5080 power delivers seriously impressive cloud gaming performance.
