This HP Omen Max 16 is a true gaming beast. Inside, it packs an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 32GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. You can enable the frame-boosting DLSS 4 to get better performance, but you might not need it in some games, given this machine’s powerful components. This thing will be a powerhouse.
The 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display provides a large canvas for games to look their best. This panel is identical to the one on the HP Omen Max 16 that I reviewed, so I can confirm that you’ll experience bright and colorful images. The fast 240Hz refresh rate and low 3ms response time also help games run smoothly and with no perceptible input lag, respectively.
At 14.04 x 10.59 x 0.9 inches and 6.1 pounds, the HP Omen Max 16 isn’t as portable as other laptops.
