I review gaming laptops for a living, so I’m always searching the internet for the best laptop deals that can save readers money on these devices. To that end, I just found that one of my favorite gaming laptops has been discounted by a large chunk of money. If you’ve had your eye on an RTX 50-series laptop, this deal is for you.

Right now, the HP Omen Max 16 is $600 off on HP’s website. While the current $1,719 sticker price isn’t exactly cheap, you’re still saving hundreds of dollars. I reviewed a higher-end version of this laptop, but this specific configuration will still deliver an enjoyable gaming experience. Here’s what’s great about the HP Omen Max 16. HP Omen Max 16 w/ RTX 5070 Ti: was $2,319 now $1,719 at HP US

This HP Omen Max 16 with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU is now one of the cheapest RTX 50-series gaming laptops I've seen, all thanks to this $600 price cut. It packs some powerful specs, too, with its Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. Throw in its 16-inch 2K (1920 x 1200) display with 165Hz refresh rate, and you're looking at a mid-range gaming laptop that packs a punch.

At 14.04 x 10.59 x 0.9 inches and 6.1 pounds, the HP Omen Max 16 can be big and heavy. Despite that, there’s no denying that it’s a beautiful laptop thanks to its Shadow Black color and sturdy aluminum chassis. Though its subdued design doesn’t immediately identify it as a gaming laptop, you can enable its per-key RGB lighting to brighten up your day. You also get a wide array of ports for your favorite peripherals and for connecting to an external monitor.

Inside, this HP Omen Max 16 packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPU, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. You won’t be able to run games at 4K resolution and max graphical settings without taking a big hit to performance. However, at 1080p resolution and medium graphics settings with the frame-boosting DLSS 4 enabled, games can run at much smoother frame rates and with sharper image quality.

Speaking about visuals, everything should look quite nice on the 16-inch display, with its 1920 x 1200 resolution and variable 60-165Hz refresh rate. While this model doesn’t have an OLED panel like the unit I reviewed, your eyes won’t be disappointed.

Thanks to everything this HP Omen Max 16 has to offer, it’s a machine I have no problem recommending to anyone looking for a mid-range RTX 50-series gaming laptop. I’m not sure how long this sale will last, so you might want to take advantage now before it ends!
