These weird-looking headphones surprise me daily — and they can be yours for their lowest price ever

Their see-through ear cup design and square look make the Nothing Headphone (1) an aesthetic outlier, but they're a consistently surprising pair of headphones that keep finding their way over my ears. Their beguiling audio customization and range of useful features ensure I can't forget their tape-like, nostalgia-bait.

Generally, they undercut the competition by quite some margin — but now the Headphone (1) are even more affordable. You can currently pick up the Nothing Headphone (1) for $239, thanks to a sizeable $60 discount at Amazon. That returns them to their lowest price ever.

With up to 80 hours of battery on tap and a super handsome style, the Nothing Headphone (1) are a great pair of headphones if you want to stand out from the crowd. They're comfortable, the sound customization is second to none, and the ANC performs very well. There's little more you could ask for.

I wasn't entirely convinced by Nothing's first foray into headphones when these were first unveiled. I found that, even though they'd been tuned by KEF (one of my favorite audio brands), the Nothing Headphone (1) sounded too dark and forbidding. They need significant work in the admittedly very strong EQ to sound as good as my ears wanted them to.

Since then, however, Nothing has worked hard to improve the Headphone (1). The EQ and the ability to share your customization with the community have been a massive boon, for one. It lets you see the profiles other users have set and adjust them to your liking for use with your headphones.

Then there's my favorite addition since launch — Audiodo sound customization. It uses a series of beeps and boops to measure your hearing, then adjusts the sound so they sound their best according to your ears. That means they can sound excellent no matter who uses them, and you don't have to adjust anything manually to get there.

Then there are the core things that Nothing already got right. 80 hours of ANC off battery life is top notch, and they're a comfortable pair of headphones that you won't mind wearing for that long.

The controls are a great too, with a series of physical buttons and rollers to adjust playback and ANC. The Nothing Headphone (1) have, over the last year or so, managed to worm their way into my cold, dead audiophile heart — and they might just do the same for you thanks to this Presidents' Day deal.
