YouTube Dishes Out 3.4 Billion Videos in January

YouTube remains the dominating video website in the U.S. with an estimated 3.36 billion videos viewed during the month of January. According to Comscore, YouTube currently holds a market share of 34.3% in the U.S. far ahead of Fox Interactive Media, which was ranked second with a share of 6.0% and 584.1 million viewed videos. Yahoo came in third with 315.0 million videos and a share of 3.2%.

Comsore said that YouTube is growing faster than its competition, gaining 1.7 market share points over December.

More than 139 million U.S. Internet users were accessing t least one video in January. Google’s YouTube attracted 80 million users, with the average user watching 110 minutes of videos, which is nearly half of the total video time per user of 206 minutes. Fox Interactive attracted the second most viewers (53.9 million), followed by Yahoo Sites (36.3 million) and AOL (21.9 million).
