The Travelmate C102Ti is probably the only Tablet PC to offer the added security of a smartcard reader, located above the PC card slot on the right side of the case.

Double trouble: emergency and access-control card.

The reader is located above the PC card slot.
Together with the security software package, the smartcard effectively protects the system against unauthorized access at several levels.
The PlatinumPAS software module protects the system from misuse at the BIOS level. If the card has not been placed in the slot, you won't be able to boot the computer. When logging in, PlatinumSecure verifies the encrypted user authentication code stored on the smartcard. If it cannot find the code, you will be unable to access the system. The third module, PlatinumKey, allows you to store your login data for websites, or even private or highly confidential data on the card.
