Losses Of Taiwan DRAM Makers In Q1 May Exceed Sales
Some of Taiwan’s DRAM makers may for the first time ever incur quarterly losses that are higher than their sales for the first quarter of this year, as prices will remain at low levels amid an oversupply that will only be worsened by continued increases in capacity, according to industry observers. Losses of Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) are estimated at $132.38 million for December 2007, which are just marginally lower than the NT$4.33 billion in sales for the month, the sources remarked.
