Besides the drive itself, the package contains a CD with Seagate Toolkit Software.

The main menu of the Toolkit software
Besides an open partition ("public zone"), the software also lets you create a password-protected secure partition ("secure zone") that's only visible after a successful login.

The Partition Manager of the Pocket Hard Drive
Plus, a write-protection function in the software lets you prevent accidental data deletion. Of course you can also use the Seagate Toolkit to perform simple, standard administrative drive functions such as creating, modifying and deleting partitions.

Something's wrong here: the drive's boot function did not work on several computers
The program also purports to render the Pocket Hard Drive bootable per FreeDOS command. But the drive was not bootable on numerous desktop PCs and notebooks we tested it with. Seagate really needs to fix this one.
