This is What a Burnt and Melted PS3 Looks Like
Looks almost edible.
Losing things in a fire is always tragic. Some are irreplaceable items with much sentimental value.
Kotaku reader Eric lost his PlayStation 3 in a fire, and has shared pictures of the burnt, charred, and melted console with the internet.
Thankfully, Eric is okay and he'll be able to buy a slimmer, quieter PS3. Let's just hope he didn't lose any valuable game saves and he wasn't using the PS2 backwards compatibility or Linux install features.
Check out more pictures at Kotaku.

I like my PlayStation medium rare, this one is well done
good job at burning a ps3 game from your ps3
Eric: Ain't she a beauty?
Eric's Friend: It's on Fire!
Eric: toldcha so...
Eric's Friend: NO SERIOUSLY!!!! LOOK!!! IT"S BURNING!!
R.I.P. Fat Beauty...
"Looks almost edible."
What??? lol
R.I.P indeed - that's a terrible thing to happen to anyone
Well, if future consoles contain nVidia Fermi graphics as it is, they won't even need a fire to get in that shape!
Looks like something my mother use to pull out of the oven.
How awesome would it be to turn that wreck into a case mod, using the inards of his new Slim Ps3 inside the charred case of the old model...
Nice design.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Umm. To reflow the solder for RLOD, you need to Disassemble it before you use the heatgun....
This is what needs to be done to all the new shiny crapboxes coming out, outdated garbage!
1 console down, just got a shit ton more to go before games can start advancing in graphics again.
Sony destroyed the dreamcast, they all should burn(except mine),lol.
It could be the Fallout 3 edition PS3, just slap a Pip Boy sticker on it. I'm sure he was crushed when he came back into the house to survey the damage, and saw his beloved fat little PS3 baby lying there, helpless, burned nearly beyond recognition.
looks like a chocolate cake
Sony destroyed the dreamcast, they all should burn(except mine),lol.
Sega killed the DreamCast not Sony, Sega refused to let third party developers create games for their system and for that they burned. They had the perfect console but had a weak mind.
sad... so sad
I am surprised this PS3 no longer works. I don't think a fire produces enough heat to melt the internal components of a PS3.
EVERYONES SAD ABOUT THE PS3 BUT NOT ABOUT THE GUY LOOSING EVERYTHING TO A HOUSE FIRE
Funny how a gamers mind works, case and point female gamer, if they play they are hot no matter how they look. Not a diss, just a observation

They did indeed, the dreamcast even before the original xbox was a game changer, I used to play starlancer on the dreamcast four hours online. Awesome system.
So does it still work?
Man, that sucks. If it had backwards compatibility it can still sell for quite a sum these days.
This is why burned games play so poorly.
I do feel bad for the guy loosing everything to a fire, but on the other hand, he decided to show his burnt ps3. So I guess that the ps3 is what was more important to him.
Anyway, it does look like a pot roast or something.
PS3 just got burned on a whole new level.... lol

It would be a tragic moment only if it were a burnt Gaming Rig. Wheeew.. It's just a PS3.
Kinda reminds me of back in the day when "Shrinky Dinks" were all the rage. This one didn't seem to shrink much.
That really sucks though. I would hate to have lost every thing in a fire. That would be tragic.
Steve jobs says that you must have been holding it wrong
I wouldn't want that happening to my stuff nor my house. Maybe next time Sony will make a console with a semi-glossy asbestos shell. (Is there even such a thing?)
