5. Back Up Your Windows Files, Continued

In GBM, on the My Folders pane, I am selecting all the files and folders in My Documents. The checked boxes indicate files and folders that will be copied to my iPod.

Your computer compresses the selected files, copies them to the iPod, and verifies that all went well.

Restore a Backup to Your PC

Using Genie Backup Manager (GBM), you can easily restore files from your iPod to your Windows PC. Here's how:

On the GBM Main Page, click Restore. Select the name of your backup from the list (Figure 40), and then click Next. Select the items that you wish to restore, and click Next. (In Figure 41 I decided to restore a folder called Essays containing one file.) In the resulting dialog box, click Restore Now. GBM restores the items that you selected.

Select the backup set. Notice that clicking the file "Backup Run 1" automatically populated the location of the main index file.

Select the file to restore. Restoring all the My Documents files would be as simple as checking the C: box near the top of the list.
