LCD panel makers are gearing up their development for the growing market trend of low-cost notebooks, with the makers planning new sizes and applications for the segment. Paul Peng, executive vice president of AU Optronics (AUO), stated that the low-cost trend is reducing the prices of notebooks to more acceptable and reasonable levels, and will in turn boost demand in the notebook market.
